He has battled more than 15 MC’s on the award wining show called Kasahare on Adom Fm and had K.O(knocked out) each of the MC’s which is judged by the listening public. Sarkodie aka OBIDIBI ,.after a long stay in the underground,no doubt that he has become one of hiplife cultural magnet in recent times by droping one 2 of the hottest mixtape in ghana right now, gymifo and the new mixtape, turning up in one of the most talk about Easter festive events , from Adom Fm Easter charity show to Kwahu MTN Easter bash to the Coca Cola Easter beach bash at the Labardi beach . What makes his accomplishment truly amazing is that Sarkodie,at the heart of it all, still just the shy calm dude who will cut you with his sharp lyrics that you will keep your head banging.

True school hiplife, hip hop fans know however, that Sarkodie amazing story really begins and ends with music. Born Michea l Owusu and was raised in TM(Tema)but he likes to rep Ghana. The charismatic rapper has blown our minds with his style and delivery in his lyrical content. You could sense his adventurousness from the way he sounds cos he says i dont want to sound like this dude or that but want to sound like myself. His goal is to let you enjoy what he is spiting out. Ironically ,the approach to his first album is to set aside all the movement in the hiplife industry and free himself of any pre-conceived notion as to what his song should sound like. The studios is where i feel most comfortable. i realized you cant worry about what u did last year or the troubles out there.

I tell the ’Beat maker’ let just do it You have to to get in to the mind frame where you’re not tryin to out-do yourself and not trying to sound like someone else but yourself. The studio is where i find my peace. He have worked with artistes like Castro, Reggie Zippy, Kwaw Kese, Quarta ,Edem.Jayso and the list goes on and on, on his album coming soon like the hottest movie he is working with some of the great beat producers , who have produce great beats like Q beats, quick action, Jayso. Cody Banks is a haters nite mare

At a tender age, Cody Banks was introduced to hip-hop music by his older cousin Bizo Becee. The hip-hop phenomenon had traveled across the Atlantic to reach the shores of Ghana. The Gold-Coast as it was known then was a hub for the senseless slave trade and the former slaves, now a proud people have brought an art back to the motherland. It was love at first sight for the young listener. Cody started to mimic what he heard on the cassette player. In no time he started to rap and took a keen interest in the then fledging hip-life scene. His gritty style, yet so socially conscious lyrics had him compared to the late-legend 2pac.

Life was not always smooth sailing for Elvis Kwaku Agyeman. Throughout his middle school years, he was branded a misfit and gained popularity in school for this. But he knew he wanted to be known for his music and kept on practicing his skills anyway he could. In 2003, his father got transferred to another city for work. there cody had a chance to showcase some of his talent at parties and started to gain some notoriety for his work.

This all payed off when he went to high school. Then a seasoned rapper, formed a group in Kumasi Academy called Richy Rich. The group performed in school functions as well as making appearances at neighboring schools. He then signed to Hold da Mic Entertainment where he recorded his first track with Laxis Gee.

After high school, he pursued a marketing degree in tertiary education where he received his diploma.

In 2008, tragedy struck. Cody lost his father. This unfortunate event made him more focused than ever to succeed in music. He started to see music not only as a hobby but a way to get great life his family. He began to battle other upcoming rappers on the radio and is yet to date undefeated. His childhood friend/manager Mark Odarno, assisted Cody to record his first single, “screen saver”. The single got radio play and was well liked by the listeners and Dj’s.

New doors got open for Cody when he arrived in the USA in 2010. He wasted no time at all to link up with Nana ‘Phubu’ Opoku of Kontinental Inc, a Washington DC based entertainment company. With Cody been in Chicago, Phubu introduced his new protege to Clement Young Vim of Hood Africans. A group well acclaimed in the Chi-town area.

With the heavy bass beats of Mobeatz, Cody ripped his first single ‘Haters Nightmare’ ft Young Vim with harsh lyrics that speaks to the core. The hunger in him was ever so evident on this track and in no time it became a hit in the underground circuit.

The future looks bright for Cody Banks and his new label. An avid Christian, he puts God first in all hs doings. He claims his musical inspiration comes from the likes of 2pac, Biggie, Easy E, NWA, Big L, 50 Cent, Jay-Z, Eminem, Bird Man and Rick Ross.

With a new album in the works, Cody looks to capture not just the ear of his listeners but their hearts as well. His story is every man or woman’s story. A hunger to succeed in life, not by any means necessary but by hard word and dedication to the art. His new label manager described him as – “a true diamond in the ruff.   Mildred Ashong - Eazzy

Ever since officially announcing her entry onto the Ghanaian music scene in July 2009, Eazzy has been treated like the next big thing and she has not failed to live up to the tag. Born Mildred Ashong in August, 1986 and growing up in Accra with her only sibling support coming from her brother, the talented entertainer has always been a firm believer in taking it easy and breezing through hardships with panache, hence her stage name Eazzy. The fascinating beauty has always had a penchant for hard work as is evidenced by her fastidiousness throughout her school years right from St Anthony’s Junior High School, Mfantiman Senior High School and the Institute of Professional Studies in Ghana to the Chartered Institute of Marketing in England. It is this same hard working nature and her glaringly obvious talent that endeared her to Lynx Entertainment and after an in-and-out affiliation with the record label she finally put pen to paper in 2009 as the newest artiste of the Lynx Entertainment family. Eazzy has rapidly grown as an artiste and she has mastered the art of performing whether in the recording booth, in front of the camera or on stage and her ao rap, sing and dance has done her no harm in catapulting her to the forefront of the Ghanaian showbiz industry. She has also done well in her collaborations with artistes such as Richie, Tinny, Asem, OJ Blaq & Zigi but it is her songs that have been the major catalyst for scores of fans joining the Eazzy bandwagon. Her first single, Bo Wonsem Ma Me was an instant club and radio hit but her newest song Wengeze has caused massive waves at all entertainment centres across the country and is currently one of the most requested songs on radio. In her short stint on the music scene Eazzy has graced many high profile platforms and she has used her wonderful stagecraft and her blend of Hip-hop, R&B and Afro Pop to thrill fans across the country. She has excelled at events such as the 2009 Joy FM Nite with the Stars and Obour’s Resurrection Concert as well as various clubs in Accra, Kumasi, Koforidua and Takoradi.

Eazzy is quickly becoming a household name and is likely to be around for quite some time since it is not often that one comes across an artiste who is able to mix playful banter and a party-like style with great lyrical dexterity and catchy punch lines as well as an ability to thrill an audience and leave male tongues wagging all at the same time. So as she saunters on through her career you can expect that this scintillatingly inspired and hard working diva will firmly embed her name in African Music History and have fans saying along with her
‘Eazzy Baby.’

Richie is an artist who embodies the description ‘jack of all trades’ by virtue of being a singer, song writer, sound producer, video editor/director and the CEO of a record label. Born in 1986 and raised in Accra, Ghana, Richie developed a strong love for music at the tender age of six and performed on various platforms with his siblings, but it was whilst studying Science in Achimota Senior High School that he made his decision to turn this talent into a profession.Upon finishing Senior High School at the age of 17, he opened his own home studio and started producing beats for various artists as he began work on what ended up being his debut album, “All of Me.” As his level of expertise soared and the quality of his production improved, Richie transformed his home studio to the now existing record company, Lynx Entertainment. Signing himself on as the first artist on the record label in 2005, he then proceeded to convince talented musicians who he thought he could work with to join up in his dream of establishing the most successful record label in Africa. Nana Wiafe Asante Mensah - ASEM

Nana Wiafe Asante Mensah aka ASEM is one of the hottest young acts in Ghana's evolving Hiplife industry. He basically came from nowhere to take Ghana by storm. His controversial track, 'Give Me Blow' became the most sought after and most transferred/ bluetoothed song among Ghanaian youths when it was unofficially released. His style is enjoyed by urban youths mostly but his combination of Twi with English lyrics makes him appeal to rural Ghana as well. He is touted as one of the artists to lead the evolution of Hiplife into what has come to be known as GH Rap. This is a fair mix of crunk and other emerging forms of American hiphop with traditional Hiplife.

ASEM has a remarkable ability to put together mind boggling lyrics laced with humorous punch lines and grasping metaphors and it seems he can never go wrong. He built a strong desire to grow into master entertainer and lyricist from listening to hip-hop with his older brothers at quite a tender age. In spite of picking up the love for music at an early age, it was in St. Peter's Senior Secondary School that he nurtured his talent. He found himself in an environment filled with people who shared in his dream to be a star in the entertainment industry. Together they formed the group Frontliners with the hope of recording an album after school. But this fell apart as they found themselves in different tertiary institutions.

ASEM enrolled into the Ghana Institute of Journalism from 2006 to 2008 for a diploma in communications studies. With the help of Richie, a singer/producer/sound engineer and C.E.O. of Lynx Entertainment, ASEM rediscovered and reinvented himself. He aims to reach beyond the shores of the African continent with his unique style of music. His inspiration comes from his admiration for artistes such as K.K. Kabobo, Reggie Rockstone, Kris Kross and Ludacris. He recently shot a video for 'Pigaro' another hit song from his yet to be released album. When he is not down with his books or not out performing or not in the studio, he hangs out with pals, read a novel or watch a movie.

     Kwaw Kese

Kwaw Kesse AKA Abodam or the King of the streets...
Born in the 80’s in Agona Swedru in the Central Region of Ghana to Mr. and Mrs. Botchwey, Kwaw Kese believes he came out singing and that the real thing started at J.S.S. when he was singing and rapping to his friends and doing some stage performances here and there.

He had his J.S.S education at Happy Home J.S.S and then went on for his Secondary education at Winneba Secondary School. He featured on Obrafour’s executioner’s diary with his ‘Oye Nonsense’ track. Asked why he chose that title, he said: “I choose ‘Oye Nonsense’ because there was something I wanted to talk about which was nonsense.Actually this is it: ‘A boy or a man could go for a lady, help her, cater for her needs and so many others things and then someone could just come from nowhere and take the lady away or vice-versa and this is “ Nonsense”. It’s something people are uncomfortable to talk about but I thought I could talk about it ‘Oye Nonsense’ and I did. When Hammer’s soundz of out time was released somewhere this year, his voice was heard on the album. This time around, it was “Ma Tewo Kwakwa” Quite surprisingly; it still had the ‘nonsense’ element in it.This track made an impact on the whole album. It became the favourite of most music lovers. In her short stint on the music scene Eazzy has graced many high profile platforms and she has used her wonderful stagecraft and her blend of Hip-hop, R&B and Afro Pop to thrill fans across the country. She has excelled at events such as the 2009 Joy FM Nite with the Stars and Obour’s Resurrection Concert as well as various clubs in Accra, Kumasi, Koforidua and Takoradi.Using his ladies’ man image, his smooth voice and his charming persona, Richie has produced hit singles Frema and When I Get U from his album ‘All of Me’ and ‘London’, ‘Intoxicated’ and ‘Ma Nim Tonn’ have also received rave reviews since their release as singles throughout 2009; helping the young entrepreneur/artist embed his name firmly in the history books of the Ghanaian music industry. Tinny

When the dish on the menu is just about Good, the Bard and the Tinny then it ought to be served best i.e. leaving the rest and fast tracking Bits and pieces of the Old young Man christened Tinny Nii Addo Quaynor. Under the aegis of Hip-hop,Ghanaians pride themselves with Hip-life i.e. a blend of local high-life tunes with some Hip-hop beat. Rap in any of the local dialect is of course a main feature but age 24 (1982, 19 Jan), he has defied all existing "rules and regulations" and has set his own standards. He believes he does Hip-hop. And you could not agree with him any less.Ever since his 2003 debut "Mokola Kwakwe" was released simultaneously in Africa, Europe and North America, he has with the passage of time proven beyond reasonable doubt that he has got all it takes to break barriers. He debut chalked up a rare feat by winning the keenly contested "Ghana Music Award" 2003 New Artist of the year on the 13th of March 2004 at the Accra International Conference Center. He also won the Ghana Music Award (UK edition) New Artist of the year that summer which washosted at the Strafford Rex Hall, London for the previous year. A youth Excellence Award for being the "Youth Musician of the year 2003 and Educationist, the Great Lamptey Mills Best Guest Entertainment Musician Artist were just mere formalities by Tinny's standards.
Tongues in London (UK), Bercia, Modena, Vicenza (Italy) would, having witnessed his live stage performance during his 2004/05 tour of Europe would confess that his charisma on stage is unparalleled.

All knees privileged to be in Africa with him would Bow because his style and delivery are unmatched. Any wonder then that the music videos of his "Djormor" titled song was nominated by channel "O" for "Best Hip-hop" video at the Mandela Square in Johannesburg, South Africa in 2005?His fans tout him a lyricists and even He believes that accolade has not come cheap. He knack at making Ga (a local dialect he usually sings and raps in) proverbs sounds more appealing and the distinct style with which he flows (mostly rhyming) has not only endeared him to the youth across Africa but won him the respect of native Ga speaking people. His good looks and neatly "chiseled" slender body adds up his strength thus making him ladies man as well. But the aforementioned was all before his sophomore album " Akwei Polo"; His family (Parents and four siblings) domiciled in London UK owns the Kankpe records label on whose wing the eleven track album was released in 2005.
Maturity comes along with time and practice but for this Young Old man it has done more than enough to earn him a 5-star status he rightly deserves. He built on what his own heritage has won for him, on and off stage. He sang (in Twi,Ga, English),rapped (in Twi,Ga, English) and composed (in Twi,Ga, English)
Then came the commercials/adverts and has been a hired feature on over 60 songs and still counting........."Ricky, Naa Badu, Nakutso Bi" a popular line in most of his songs confirms the immeasurable support he receives from his parents Mr. Ricky Tetteh Quanor and Christie -Lee Naa Badu Quaynor. Osu Salem School for the basics and Okuapeman Secondary for advance education has proven to be enough.Him leaving his group Nature and Agony to pursue a solo dream has proven to be wise . Very wise. This 2nd January, 2007 he organized and performed two songs at his grand New Year's party for 300 HIV/AIDS orphaned children at Manya-krobo in the eastern region of Ghana to mark the beginning of his "Mytinny - Contribution Campaign" which he says would be his Annual Social Responsibility Project. "Of course my fans constitute the society and they have made me what and who I am.I think I'd be shirking my responsibility if I do not help in my own small way to encourage kid's to go to school, inspire them to be hard working and help alleviate poverty and diseases in my Ghana and beyond because I am a role model"

M3NSA

Considered by many as one of the hardest working men in the fusion of true school hip-hop and West-African home grown hiplife, M3NSA is poised to be London City’s premier indie-soul singer, emcee and producer. His music and lyrics possess refreshingly effortless witticism and ‘laugh out quips” that are entertaining and provocative; and he comes from a rich background that has informed his music and inspired his lyrics. It is no wonder then that M3NSA was influenced by his family’s artistic lineage. He grew up celebrating his roots and found a passion in music.

M3NSA picked up playing the piano at age 5 and let out, in what his mother called "A natural transition," a brood of laments that later became the signature of his first band. Young and angst-ridden when he actually wrote some of his first songs, and barely 20 when he finally started producing music, he has since been involved in several album projects panning a stylistic musical gamut that includes highlife, hip-hop, electro, pop, grime and soulful house recorded with a diverse and frequently changing crew of musicians that have comprised British afro-pop sensation Osibisa and hip-life pioneer Reggie Rockstone. Influenced heavily by the classical music from lessons as a child and records from the 70’s, particularly the ability of both to improvise music on stage, M3NSA began playing publicly at the Lille International Music Festival in France at the age of 19.

In fairness, and according to close family, by the age of 12 he had already caused many consulates “wide grins and ovation for his piano recitals”. At age 20, M3NSA became a permanent resident in London and got introduced to the city’s indie music circuit. He had by then garnered sufficient accolades as a credible producer for the hip-life genre (a West-African fusion of hip-hop and highlife). Today, what began for M3NSA in his nascent, burgeoning work of the 90's as a producer now seeps throughout the musical and cultural phenomenon that is today's hip-life. All the while, M3NSA has remained a musical and cultural force, a living icon and a significant, relevant artist still churning out hip-life hits. He is duly recognised by the BBC, Kora Awards, Mobo Awards and M-Net’s Channel O. London was supposed to represent new opportunity, and it did. M3NSA began to experiment with the like of genres like grime and funky house. As writer, arranger and producer, M3NSA soon became a hot commodity in the city’s indie-soul circuit gaining the attention of the likes of Giles Peterson & other equally respected deejays . He has performed extensively in Europe & North America, touring with The Wu-Tang Clan and opening for the likes of The Legendary Roots Crew. M3NSA has since then built a catalogue of production and feature work.

This summer, his debut album titled The Weather Report will be released. The album showcases his influence to date from living in the city of London and is a tribute to the British Weather. The lead single aptly titled “When it rains” is a thought-provoking reflection of how situations only seem to worsen during life’s toughest times. It sets the pace for the rest of the album’s journey through life’s many corridors; all the while juxtaposing with the British weather. Not much is certain in life, but the smoothed out guitar riffs, sensual hip-hop beats and M3NSA's dulcet vocals are sure to garner the respect of critics, increase his burgeoning fan base and leave listeners yearning for more.
