Ghanaian hip hop artiste, D-Black has premiered his much anticipated animated music video, My Kinda Girl, at a star-studded party at three venues, Saturday night.
The venues, Rockstone’s Office, Grand Papaz and the Cinderella Nite Club, were all filled to capacity with party revelers and celebrities who travelled from the length and breadth of the country and even outside the country to be among the first to watch the much talked about video.
The impressive lineup of celebrities included Lydia Forson, VIP, 4X4, Josely Dumas, Sarkodie, Reggie Rockstone, Dee Money, Stay Jay, R2Bees, Efya and Nigerian music star, Naeto C.
The animated video features Ghana’s fastest rapper, Sarkodie, with movie stars, Nadia Buari, Jackie Appiah, Majid Michel, Yvonne Nelson, Juliet Ibrahim, Lydia Forson, Joselyn Dumas, and musicians, Reggie Rockstone, Dee Money, Eddie Blay and Nigerian OX Senavoe also making appearances.
Before the premiere of the My Kinda Girl video which was shown simultaneously at 2:30am in all the three venues, D-Black introduced record label mate, Dee Money’s video Kpokpo O Body.
This will be D-Black’s second animated video after the first, Get On Da Dance Floor, was released a year ago.
He explained to Myjoyonline.com after the premiere that, “The Get on Da Dance Floor video was real life with special animation effects. This one, My Kinda Girl, is a pure animated video with a storyline. It’s actually a mini movie and features Ghanaian actors, actresses and musicians.”
The video was the handy work of Nigerian animator, Jonathan Olamide and it was completed just three weeks ago.
The excited D-Black revealed that he incorporated the celebrities in the video “because they are already actors and actresses and that was what I wanted to deliver in the video so it only made sense. Also I wanted to sell the Ghanaian entertainment industry to the rest of the world.”
D-Black hinted that he will be launching the Ama Kipkip Clothing in Ghana in December. His Yes Boss Tour and album release, according to him, are also receiving finishing touches.
