After many years of nurturing her talent through her participation in notable reality shows such as Mentor, Stars of the Future and Idols Africa, Victoria Nana Adezoa Stokes, known in Showbiz as Adez, has released her new hit single titled ‘Budiin (Silence).
The song, which features hip-life artiste Stonebuoy, encapsulates the pain of a woman madly in love, and yet is paid back with nothing but sorrow as her man agonizingly cheats on her.
Adez, born and bred in Takoradi told Radio Maxx she is confident that the song will be accepted by discerning music lovers, particularly women who suffer disappointments at the hands of hard-hearted men.
She hopes to premiere the Budin music video in January 2012.
Adez first made public appearance on TV3’s reality show ‘Mentor’ (Season II) where she represented the Western Region.
While many people do not have the urge to continue a course after a few setbacks, some still find a reason to keep fighting their way through. That’s exactly what Adez is made of.
After failing to make her mark in both Stars of the future, Mentor and Idols Africa, Adez decided to put all that behind her and move on.
Adez, 26, has been a singer for the greater part of her life, performing mostly on stage. She’s performed at live shows with the likes of Kojo Antwi, Daddy Lumba, Paapa Yankson, Samini, VIP, Kwabena Kwabena, Hugh Masakela, Mathey from Ivory Coast, Wisdom Band from Jamaica, Wutah, Praye, Felix Owusu, Tagoe Sisters, Gyedu Blay Ambulley, C.K Mann, Obrafour, Lord Kenya, George Jaraah and Ofori Amponsah as a backup vocalist.
“Doing shows at events is not an easy task,” she says, explaining that her participation in ‘Mentor’ and ‘Stars of the future’ taught her a lot.
With her passion for live band music, Adez has also performed alongside local and international bands; Western Diamonds, Musical Box, Marriot International Band, Megastar Band, Shabo Crew and Rainbow Tribe Band, Afrokoko Root Band and Binkabi band.
Aside singing, Fashion, according to Adez, is the most essential part of her life which she can never go without. Adez describes herself as a simple and outgoing lady who loves cooking, singing and looking after kids and most importantly spending time with family and friends.
After the many years of grooming, her music is something that should prove to the world that she’s gotten better. She’s putting a lot into it and she is optimistic that her newfound fame will get people buying her records.
